Why the "Favolosa" cultivar was chosen
FS 17, also known abroad as "Favolosa" is capable of resisting the Xylella Fastidiosa bacterium which in the last 10 years has caused the loss of thousands of olive trees in Salento and now also in the Bari area.
The variety is recognized by the PGI regulations as an Apulian cultivar due to its vast presence even before the arrival of the bacterium
